With heavy hearts, we announce that Rhoda George Fakhoury Hodge of Huntington, West Virginia, passed peacefully in her sleep on July 3, 2025. Rhoda, strong as the Cedars of Lebanon from which she came, was born in Kfeir, Lebanon.
Rhoda married her late husband Touffic Michael Hodge and came to the United States where they started a family. Rhoda was a loving mother, grandmother (Tata and Tia), great grandmother, exceptional cook, savvy businesswoman and steadfast in her faith to Holy Spirt Orthodox Church. Rhoda’s devotion in life was to her family, as her love for them was deep and unconditional, and she will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved her.
Rhoda is survived by her daughters Norma Hodge Thompson (Douglas), Nadia Hodge Hardy (David), Sharon Hodge and Lora Hodge Nicholas (David), her grandchildren, Ryan and Evan Thompson and Scott (Madeleine) and Kristen Hardy (Jake Alford), her great grandchild Austin Alford and sisters, Safa El-Ghiz, Hend Tweel and many nieces and nephews in Lebanon and Brazil. Rhoda was preceded in death by her husband, Touffic Hodge, her daughter, Nancy Hodge, her father and mother George and Zakiah Fakhoury, her brothers, Saad, Thabit, Mourad and Nader Fakhoury and her beloved pets, King, Cedar and Zaytune.
Her Visitation will be Wednesday, July 9th from 6pm – 8pm at Holy Spirit Orthodox Church (1 Woodhaven, Drive, Huntington, WV), with the Trisagion Service starting at 7:30 pm. The Funeral Service will also be held at Holy Spirit Orthodox Church on Thursday, July 10th at 11am. The burial will be at Spring Hill Cemetery.
